India’s stand on Bilawal’s visit :-

Islamabad has said in an announcement on Thursday that Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will go to Goa to attend the SCO foreign ministers’ meeting. At the same time, regarding Bilawal’s visit, India has said that it would not be appropriate to focus on the participation of one country alone in a multilateral event.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that similar invitations have been extended to all SCO member states. “It wouldn’t really be fair to look at the participation of any one particular country,” he said.

Several terrorist groups operate against India from Pakistani soil and continue to target civilians and security personnel, especially in the Valley. India has repeatedly accused Pakistan of sponsoring terrorism, and has demanded strict action against state and non-state actors.

Just days before the Poonch attack, media reports quoted intelligence sources as saying that Pakistan was planning grenade attacks on specific targets in Jammu and Kashmir, killings after Eid, and around the G-20 meeting in Srinagar. I’m planning an attack. The report said that security forces, political workers and people from outside Jammu and Kashmir, who are in the union territory, could be the main targets of the terrorists.

The terror attack in Poonch is likely to affect relations between India and Pakistan and the visit of Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is likely to be affected. Though the SCO meeting in Goa is still two weeks away, Thursday’s terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir has put a question mark on the mood of the yatra.

Relations between India and Pakistan appear to be strained beyond immediate repair, with frequent Pakistan-sponsored terrorist attacks outside the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and India no longer trusting Pakistan. Therefore, the impact of terrorist attacks on bilateral relations is clearly visible.
